Introduction:
Hi, my name is Dale Lovett; wife, mother, grandmother, entrepreneur. The following is the first chapter in my new e-book. It primarily focuses on the mindset one must have to be successful in business and in life. I'm not promoting any biz ops here, just sharing some things I've discovered along the way. Hopefully you will see the nuggets of Truth and take them to heart and act upon them. If you do have a business all ready and need some free advertising, there are a couple of links at the bottom of this blog. You are welcome to place as many as you wish as these are New Sites.
Have you ever felt no matter how hard you try, no matter what you do, you just can't seem to get ahead? You know what I mean. You feel like you're in a rut, just spinning your wheels, digging in deeper and deeper. You get up in the morning to go to work for 8, 10, 12 hours. Commute back home and have to fulfill you your household obligations; you start your chores around the house. Some of you have to prepare the meal while some of you have lawn work or something you must fix. After that you might have time to read or watch the game on TV. Most of the time, you're so tired, you end up falling asleep in the chair. Sound familiar? You drag yourself out of the chair and get ready for bed. You put your head on the pillow, snuggle up under the covers and BAM! Your mind starts racing about the things you didn't get done today and how much MORE you must do tomorrow. after what seems like an eternity, you fall asleep and after about 5 perceived seconds later, the alarm goes off and it's back to the old grind. Day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year just spinning your wheels, digging your rut deeper and deeper. The next thing you know, you don't know your family any more, your kids have all grown up and you didn't even pay attention! UGH!
During this time you have discovered that if YOU don't change SOMETHING in your life, your life won't change! What a fantastic discovery! Do you KNOW that you have the ability to change? All you need to do is to decide to do it. That's a wonderful thing about being a human. We have the power of choice! We also have been given the power to DO IT! God has provided a way for us to appropriate that power whenever we need it. It's up to us to search that way out.
Now you've decided to start your own business. Very Good! Now you must "count the cost" financially, emotionally, spiritually. You don't want to make this decision blindly as there will be obsticles to overcome. That's all part of the process. Please don't delude yourself into thinking that you'll get rich overnight no matter what kind of hype you read on different offers. They're just playing off your hopes and desires. Do your research BEFORE you decide! Otherwise you'll get caught up in MORE worries and troubles. That is one of the biggest pitfalls, especially in online businesses. There are copywriters who's job it is - to play off these emotions so make sure you also USE your MIND! Think things through and what ever you do, don't be lazy about this. You could fail before you even get started. You will hear me say this several times throughout my writings.
Here's a little side note about thinking things out.
It took me till my 3rd year in college to realize I didn't even know how to think things through. All through high school and the first couple of years in college, I figured that having just the concept meant I KNEW it. Boy was I wrong! I had a wonderful mentor (I was taking independent courses where there were no formal classes) who had me write everything down in essay form. In going over these essays, I was able to SEE my thoughts in black and white and SEE they were incomplete! This forced me to think more, to fill in the holes left by my concept only form of thinking. After writing a few more essays, practicing my thinking something through to it's conclusion, I got better at it. Now I'm not going to say I always think everything through. Sometimes I get lazy, sometimes, I just get caught up in the moment. The fact is, I'm responsible for my own actions or inactions, no one else. The same is true for you. If you need to learn to think something through, WRITE it down, study it, look for holes and REWRITE it until there are no more holes. It also helps if you have another pair of eyes to help you remain objective. This will also help you in your business when you get it going! You will need those writing skills.
Again, congratulations for deciding to make a change in your life to better your circumstances!
The next chapter we'll explore some subjects that requires some thinking through before you get started following through on your decision.
Blessings and Prosperity,
Dale Lovett
